KENZO BY NIGO FOR HIM THE SPRING-SUMMER 2024 CAMPAIGN LOOKS Nigo builds the bridge between Japan and France, declining the iconic kimono shape through tailoring and outerwear menswear pieces.

Kenzo

Kenzo Takada arrived in Paris in 1964 with the hopes that a new world of sights and sensations could inspire the launch of his fashion career. The earliest roots of the Kenzo brand hark back to Takada's own 'Jungle Jap': the designer's first boutique which was adorned with lavish, tropical-style decorations and decor and filled with garments of a similar nature.

With the appointment of Nigo as artistic director in 2021, Kenzo has experienced a bit of a renaissance recently, with a considerable amount of hype surrounding the Japanese designer's debut collection. Much like Takada in the 1970's, Nigo dares to challenge seasonal trends with his bold, overt use of colours and frequent forays into the avant-garde.
